Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU)
SPOR SUPPORT Unit | Maritime

The Strategy for Patient Oriented Research (SPOR) is a pan-Canadian initiative established by the Canadian Institute for Health Research (CIHR) whose goal is to engage patients, caregivers, and families as partners in the research process. Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU) serves the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island with over 50 staff working in five sites across the Maritimes. The MSSU strives to ensure health research is relevant and meaningful to patients across the Maritimes. The unit supports the implementation of evidence into practice to improve health care and health systems in the Maritimes. This is accomplished through collaboration with government stakeholders, health authorities, the research community, trainees, and patients and caregivers.
