Canadian Family Practice Nurse Association (CFPNA)

CFPNA is an association of volunteer nurses that advocates for the nurse’s role in primary care in Canada through various national committee representation, webinar education events, and national networking through our membership. In the absence of a specific educational program required to work as a primary care nurse, CFPNA provides resources and networks to enable registered nurses to expand their expertise and adapt their practice to the primary care work setting. CFPNA contributed to the development of national core competencies used to guide and support the work of registered nurses employed in primary care settings.
