Alliance against Violence and Adversity (AVA)
Health Research Training Platforms | Canada – Global
The Alliance against Violence and Adversity (AVA) is an organization whose mission is to promote the health and well-being of girls and women at risk/affected by violence and adversity. For community workers, researchers and policy makers, AVA provides a training platform that focuses on evidence-based interventions. As an organization, AVA relies on collaboration between researchers and community actors to remove the barriers that channel inequality. Through its platform, AVA aims to: prevent and address the impacts of violence and adverse childhood experiences on the health and well-being of girls and women; conduct collaborative, community-based research on the science of implementation; develop and evaluate innovative evidence-based interventions; conduct interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral, and cross-jurisdictional research; and undertake strategic planning to influence programs and policies.
