The Meaning of PASSERELLE

The word PASSERELLE is French for footbridge. It evokes a passage, a link between two points, a space where we move forward and grow. It reflects our deep conviction that collaboration opens new paths when it enables us to:

  • connect people, ideas, and experiences across diverse horizons to bring new perspectives to light;
  • build solid bridges between disciplines, institutions, and communities to strengthen collective power;
  • support capacity building to fully seize opportunities that transform research;
  • accompany those who engage in new learning or collaborative experiences by offering them concrete, accessible, and supportive assistance.

The Story Behind the Design

The PASSERELLE logo is inspired by the very idea of a footbridge: a place of movement and connection. It reflects our approach to connecting people, knowledge, and experiences in order to advance research with and for those concerned.

Its shapes evoke the key dimensions of our approach: collaborating authentically, learning together, developing capacity, and supporting the development of individuals, teams, and organizations. These dimensions are not separate; they intersect, enrich each other, and guide our work.

Equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) are omnipresent. These principles permeate everything we do, guided by Indigenous and Western perspectives, in a spirit of cultural safety.

The fluid movement of the design, reminiscent of a wave, symbolizes an organization that is constantly evolving and committed to innovation.

The rounded typography expresses our deeply human approach: accessible, welcoming, and rooted in relationships of trust and respect.
